Welcome to Editec and the World of  USM – Ultra Slow Motion

Editec was founded by Steve Cotterill in 1992 as a specialist provider of broadcast products and services. Editec introduced the now de facto standard EVS Live Slow Motion Disk Recorders into the UK market place. At that time, the early 1990’s Editec operated as the Exclusive Distributor for EVS of Belgium and greatly assisted in the adoption of EVS technology into the UK Broadcasting Industry.
Editec would now like to introduce USM – Ultra Slow Motion – as a progression of its track record for bringing the latest and the best technological advances to UK Broadcasting. In 2008 following its introduction and showcase at NAB, Editec entered into an Exclusive Distribution Agreement with I-MOVIX S.A. of Mons, Belgium for the marketing of the SprintCam Ultra Slow Motion Camera System in the United Kingdom and Eire.
The I-MOVIX SprintCam was put to the test at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing and since then has been adopted by many major broadcasters as their preferred camera system for the provision of superb ultra slow motion replays. The SprintCam is used by Sky Sports for Darts, Rugby Union, Premiere League Football, Grand Prix Speedway, Show Jumping (Hickstead Horse of the year show), Mosconi Cup Pool and Athletics. BBC Wales have deployed the Sprintcam on Welsh Rugby and RTE in Eire have also made the SprintCam their choice in certain programs for slow motion replays. The I-MOVIX SprintCam has also been deployed by Formula 1 to capture incredible F1 Grand Prix slow mo’s.
Editec continue to supply SD and HD EVS systems to its clients, along with other broadcast products and services, but this last year has seen a significant shift of business emphasis towards the world of Ultra Slow Motion and we see this sector of our operations becoming increasingly more significant over the coming years. Further details of the
I-MOVIX SprintCam can be found on the I-MOVIX page of this site and full details and specifications can be found on the I-MOVIX web site by clicking the link to the left. Also see the Editec I-MOVIX X10 launch interview at BVE 2012.
